Success at Last
Congratulations – You’ve Been Accepted! Now What?
The first acceptance is a great experience. In fact, the second acceptance is pretty good, too! Knowing that your peers value your work is an exciting feeling. Enjoy it – you’ve earned it!
So what happens next? Once accepted, your paper will be entered into the editorial calendar for the journal. The process from acceptance to print can take anywhere from three months to a year or more, depending on a number of factors. Your editor (yes, now it’s your editor!) should be able to give you an estimate of time to publication.
Before publication, though, a number of practical production-oriented events must take place:
- More revisions
- Copyediting
- Typesetting (if the publication is printed)
- Proofreading
